Spinning is a class on a stationary bike that has both physical andmental components.  The instructor leads you through a journey that simulates a variety of terrain.  Each individual controls his/her intensity by use of various adjustments made to the bike.

* You may sign-up 24 hours before class at the member service desk; however, you may sign- up for Sunday’s class on Friday.

* Participants must be on their cycles 5 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time. Failure to be on the bike 5 minutes prior to the scheduled start time will result in forfeiture of the ride. Riders who are on the stand-by list and are present will get the spot. When the waiting list is exhausted spots will be available first come first serve.

* At the conclusion of the class, participants are required to prepare their cycles for the upcoming class by ensuring their cleanliness and by resetting the cycle tension lever.

Class Specifics

* Each class is designed for all fitness levels. The student controls the intensity and difficulty of his/her workout through variations in body alignment (sitting/standing) and the amount of resistance applied to the flywheel.

* Each class is scheduled for a one-hour time slot. Depending upon the number of new participants, the first 10 minutes of the class is designed for set up and orientation by the instructor.  More experienced participants may begin to ride or assist the instructor with set up. The class is designed as follows:

* - 5-10 minutes set up
* - 40-45 minutes riding
* - 5 minutes stretch

* We encourage all participants to wear proper padded bike shorts or to bring a gel seat to class.

* Towels and water bottles must be brought to class.  Dehydration can occur easily during class and for your safety and health, we want to ensure that you have plenty of fluid on hand. Towels for sweat are available at the member service desk.  Please bring one, use it, and wipe down your bike after class.

* Contact member services to sign up for a class and to pick up a cycle schedule.

* Take part in a wide variety of Co-ed and Women's only group exercise classes that include aerobics, step, yoga, Tae-boxing, Pilates and aqua-aerobics.  LifePlex has four full size group exercise studios featuring wood "sport" floors. Spin class is offered in a dedicated Spin studio.
